She is Woman: Victoria

When I was post-processing the image of Victoria, the phrase "she is woman" just popped up in my head. She's got that spunk and strong feminine vibe. This photo shoot took us to Buttonwood Farms in Griswold, CT, where some amazing sunflower fields were blooming. If you are ever in Connecticut around late July, I highly suggest going by there. They have delicious homemade ice cream (with SO many flavors, and actually this ice cream stand goes longer than the 'Sunflowers for Wishes' week), and a great environment of happy sunflowers. I suggested this place to Victoria when we were figuring out locations, and she was just as excited I was to accept this place. The owners gladly gave me permission to photograph here, and I believe they were taken back by me actually asking to make images there instead of just going for it. Anyway, here are some of my favorites from our shoot:

You are just lovely, Victoria. I adore the strength and confidence that just feels out from these images. I can just imagine they're very inspiring to other mothers! Congrats!

Pregnant Molly

This couple has love just seeping through their presence. I wanted to tear up when they were together, seeing how happy they were to be with one another. Their baby boy is certainly going to be brought into the world with so much love. In these images, Molly is 31 weeks along with such a beautiful pregnant glow! The weather, although it drizzled at a part of our shoot, cooperated with us to create some lovely mood for our images together. Here are some of my favorites:

Molly and Andy, both of you are such a rare treasure, seeing two people so in love and so happily anxious to see their lil' bundle. It was an honor to photograph your happiness. I wish you both so much wellness.

Always,

Baby Girl O

The last time I photographed Meara it was with her husband, Daniel (who is on the same boat as my boyfriend in the Navy), on a cold November day last year. You can view that blog here. Now, in the summer season of 2011 on the day of July 19, they found out they were having a baby girl. I was bursting with anticipation of what she was having, and she was a darling to come by my work the day she knew arriving with a pink ribbon around her expecting belly. Later that day, I photographed her in all of her mother glory. She had her favorite flower, stargazer lily (which happened to be in my front yard), in a pink ribbon around her waist. In some of the photos, you'll also see her pointe ballet shoes. For a fun fact, Meara has been in dance for 19 years! This shoot definitely is one of my favorites for the books. For our location, I chose Ocean Beach in Connecticut, and here are some of my favorites from our shoot together:

One of my favorite images I've ever created with someone.

I look forward to meeting your baby girl, Meara. I'll be there on that day you bring her into the world, supporting you and awaiting this precious little bundle.

Always,
