On March 29, it was Sam's first birthday, and this photo session took me to the most northern state I have ever been in the US: New Hampshire. I got to visit the mother's, Molly, hometown in NH, and it is very darling! We had some yummy light in the family's home, and the rain even held off until I was returning to my own home. It was wonderful to see this family again, and seeing Sam for the first time because before I only saw his brother, Ben, 20 days old and their parents in new parenthood joy. Here are some of my favorites from this weekend's New Hampshire session:
Happy Birthday, Sam! As always, I thoroughly enjoy photographing your beautiful family!
Connecticut cannot make up its mind on if Spring should happen or not. Nevertheless, a family I've known for a few years now and I rocked out the windy and chilly weather to create some portraits. I simply adored the colors they were wearing, and again I'm enjoying finding the moments in between attempts and successes of the photos we thought we wanted. Instead, I'm still exploring and loving the documentary style of photographing families! Here are some of my favorites:
Today let me reflect on how fortunate I am with returning clients. I have photographed a couple with their first maternity session, their son's newborn and one year session, their second maternity session, and now their daughter's newborn session. It's really an honor to photograph these for a family, and that's an advantage for not moving when you thought you were! Also, I'm becoming more of a fan of documenting family portraits, and there is a difference between documenting and photographing with this. Yes, they work hand-in-hand, but there is a great wonder in just accepting what's going on in the moment! Sure, everyone looking and smiling is great, but I'm also enjoying just seeing all of the personality which can happen. Without further adieu, here are my favorites from our session:
Congratulations, Jimmy and Stephanie, and thank you.
I've only met Susan twice, and both times have been for photo sessions. Both times have been really awesome, and it's unfortunate she doesn't live close! With her short time in Connecticut, we met up for a session in a location I never knew existed. We basically felt like we were playing in the road, but it was still fun! Here's some of my favorites!
